10 Fun Things to Do When You're a Guest at The Cape in Los Cabos
So, you're headed to Cabo for a wedding at The Cape.
First of all: lucky you.
Between the ocean views, the Baja sunshine and a wedding weekend that will probably have you dressed up more than once, it's tempting to spend the entire trip at the resort.
And honestly? We wouldn't blame you.
But if you're going to make the trip all the way to Los Cabos, we'd encourage you to venture out for at least a little bit.
One of the things we love about The Cape is its location. You're close enough to Cabo San Lucas for a lively afternoon or evening in town, while San José del Cabo, the beaches along the Tourist Corridor and some of our favorite Baja experiences are all within reach.
If you're attending a wedding at The Cape, here are 10 things we'd put on your Cabo itinerary.
01. Take a Boat Out to El Arco
If you've never been to Cabo before, start here.
El Arco—the dramatic rock formation at Land's End where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez—is one of those places that really does live up to the hype. You can see it from the coastline, but seeing it from the water is a completely different experience.
Book a private boat, hop on a sailing excursion, or take a water taxi from the marina and make your way toward Land's End.
Along the way, you'll pass the famous rock formations, sea lions and Lover's Beach.
Our tip: If you have a group of friends in town for the wedding, consider making this a group outing. A few hours on the water with drinks, music and a swim stop is a pretty perfect pre-wedding afternoon.
02. Spend the Afternoon at Médano Beach
Need a break from the resort pool?
Head to Médano Beach.
It's the main swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas and sits right near the marina and downtown, making it an easy place to combine a beach afternoon with lunch, drinks or a little exploring around town.
You can swim, paddleboard, kayak, grab a beach chair or simply plant yourself in the sand for a few hours.
For something quintessentially Cabo, this is it.

And if you're looking for a toes-in-the-sand lunch, The Office on the Beach is right on Médano and brings plenty of festive Cabo energy.
Our tip: Don't try to squeeze a beach day into the two hours between wedding events. Give yourself the afternoon. This is vacation, after all.
03. Make a Day of the Marina
The Cabo San Lucas Marina is worth wandering even if you don't have a boat excursion planned.
It's the jumping-off point for many of the area's water activities and a lively place to stroll, shop, grab a drink or watch the boats come and go.
This is also where you'll find plenty of options for booking water activities, from fishing to snorkeling to sunset cruises.

If you're traveling with a group, it's an easy place to meet up before heading out for the afternoon.
Our tip: Pair a marina stroll with dinner or drinks afterward rather than treating it as a stand-alone activity.
04. Snorkel at Chileno Beach
If your ideal Cabo day involves actually getting in the water, put Chileno Beach on your list.
Chileno is one of the area's protected, swimmable beaches and is known for snorkeling and clear water. The official Los Cabos tourism information specifically recommends Chileno as one of the region's better spots for swimming and snorkeling.

It's a nice alternative to the energy of Médano because the experience is more about the water and the landscape.
Our tip: Go earlier in the day when you can. And always pay attention to the local beach safety flags and current conditions—the Pacific side of Los Cabos can be much rougher than it looks.
05. Have Lunch at Flora Farms
This is one for the foodies.
Tucked into the foothills outside San José del Cabo, Flora Farms is a 25-acre working organic farm with its own restaurant, grocery, shops and a collection of experiences.

The experience is as much about the setting as it is about the meal. You can wander the property, browse the shops and make an afternoon of it rather than simply showing up for lunch and leaving.
Flora Farms also offers experiences including cooking classes, farm tours, art classes and wellness activities.
Our tip: This is especially good for a group of wedding guests who want to do something together that doesn't involve a beach club or a boat.
06. Spend an Afternoon Exploring San José del Cabo
Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo have very different personalities.
If Cabo San Lucas feels energetic, social and resort-forward, San José del Cabo offers a slower, more cultural side of Los Cabos.
Head downtown and wander through the historic center, where you'll find galleries, boutiques, restaurants and the charming streets around Plaza Mijares.

It's a particularly good option for guests who want to see a little more of Baja beyond the resort.
And if you're there on a Thursday...
Make it Art Walk night.
The San José del Cabo Art Walk takes place Thursday evenings during the seasonal months, when galleries open their doors and the Gallery District comes alive with art, shopping, restaurants and people wandering between them.
Our tip: Start with a drink, wander the galleries, find something beautiful to take home and stay for dinner.
07. Have a Long, Lazy Meal at Acre
If your idea of an activity is essentially “eat somewhere beautiful and stay there for several hours,” we support that.
Acre Restaurant & Cocktail Bar is tucked into Ánimas Bajas near San José del Cabo and is surrounded by lush landscaping and farmland. The property combines a destination restaurant with a broader experience that includes its farm, animal sanctuary, shops and other activities.
It's a great choice when you want something that feels like an outing rather than simply another restaurant reservation.
Acre also offers weekend brunch, including a tasting-style experience and the opportunity to wander the property afterward.
Our tip: If you're traveling with a few other wedding guests, make this your “we're not checking the time today” afternoon.
08. Get Out on the Water for a Sunset Sail
Cabo is one of those destinations where you should really see it from the water at least once.
A sunset cruise gives you a completely different perspective of the coastline, especially as the light changes over Land's End and the surrounding rock formations.
You can choose a larger group sailing experience or book something private for your wedding crew.
Cabo Adventures - Luxury Sailing Adventure offers luxury sailing experiences from the Cabo marina, including routes around Land's End and opportunities for swimming and snorkeling.
For a more private experience, La Isla Tour Cabo | Catamaran Rental specializes in private boat and catamaran outings that can be customized around your group.
Our tip: This is a particularly good activity for the day before or after the wedding. It's celebratory without requiring anyone to put on formal clothes.
09. Have a Proper Cabo Dinner Out
Yes, The Cape has excellent dining.
But if you're in Cabo for several days, we always think it's worth venturing out for dinner at least once.
For a classic, polished Cabo evening, consider Edith's Restaurante, a long-running favorite known for Mexican-influenced cuisine, seafood and steak in a lively setting.
Or, for something much more casual, head toward Médano and grab a beachfront meal at The Office on the Beach.
And if you want to stay closer to the culinary side of the Tourist Corridor, there are plenty of destination restaurants between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.
Our tip: Ask your wedding planner for the restaurant she'd actually send her own friends to. That's often a much better recommendation than simply choosing the restaurant with the most Instagram followers.
10. Do Absolutely Nothing
This one is important.
You came to Cabo for a wedding.
You do not need to turn your trip into a 72-hour itinerary.
Give yourself a morning to sleep in. Order coffee. Sit by the pool. Read a book. Swim. Have lunch. Take a nap.
Then get ready for the wedding.
The beauty of staying at a destination like The Cape is that you don't have to leave the property to have an incredible experience. Sometimes the best thing you can do in Cabo is simply slow down enough to enjoy where you are.
And after traveling for a destination wedding, we're pretty sure your body will thank you.
The Best Cabo Experience Is a Mix
Our favorite wedding weekends aren't the ones where every minute is scheduled.
They're the ones where guests have a few memorable things planned, plenty of time to explore on their own and enough downtime to actually enjoy the destination.
So take the boat to El Arco.
Swim at Chileno.
Have lunch at Flora Farms.
Wander San José del Cabo.
Stay on the beach until the sun starts to drop.
And, of course, save some energy for the dance floor.
Because while you're in Cabo for the wedding, the destination is part of the celebration, too.
