MODERN INDUSTRIAL WEDDING RECEPTION IN BLACK AND GRAY AT LUCE LOFT | ANDREW AND ALAN
MODERN SAN DIEGO GAY WEDDING RECEPTION
It’s always an honor when an industry colleague asks you to oversee their day. I’ve known Andrew for a few years now; first, when he was the Catering Coordinator at Temecula Creek Inn, he then moved on to oversee the event department at South Coast Winery. Everyone in the Temecula wedding world knows Andrew and considers him a friend. When Andrew and Alan asked me to coordinate their reception, I was beyond honored. And when they shared their vision, I was really excited! Their reception was at Luce Loft in downtown San Diego, adjacent to Petco Park – the perfect mix of industrial vibe with historic charm. The walls in all the different materials alone could tell stories.
They envisioned a modern-industrial feel in black and gray. It was as elegant as it was masculine with each detail selected by them. The table design was moody and fit the venue beautifully and the place setting was my favorite detail. I loved the gray linen napkins and the black menu cards with grommeted place cards in pretty calligraphy. The white blooms balanced and brightened the space and the candlelight added warmth. As guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the grooms enjoyed snapping some photos with the downtown scene and skyline at sundown. The family-style dinner created a joyful buzz and they ended the night with some heartfelt toasts and lots of dancing.
